Abstract
A non-pyrogenic preparation containing nanoparticles synthesized by magnetotactic bacteria for medical or cosmetic applications. The nanoparticles are constituted by a crystallized mineral central part including predominantly an iron oxide, as well as a surrounding coating without material from the magnetotactic bacteria.
Claims20
A preparation comprising at least one synthetic nanoparticle, the at least one synthetic nanoparticle comprising:
- a crystallized mineral central part comprising predominantly an iron oxide, the central part having been produced by a living organism,
- wherein the central part has at least one property selected in the group consisting of:
- i) the central part is non-pyrogenic,
- and
- ii) the central part comprises less than 50% of organic material.
