Abstract
The invention relates to a handrail for a staircase comprising a handrail member and an adjustable securement device (80, 85) to support the hand rail member at variable heights above the stairs of a staircase.

An adjustable handrail system for a staircase, said adjustable handrail system comprising:
- at least one track attachable to a substantially vertical surface;
- and
- at least one track follower including a handrail bracket portion, and a track bracket portion, said handrail bracket portion being configured to securably receive a portion of a handrail member;
- wherein said track being configured to support said track follower at variable heights above a staircase.
