Abstract
An information processing apparatus includes circuitry configured to: accumulate a document received by FAX in a storage; control output of the accumulated document based on an operation of a user; and set a state of the document to unread in response to the document being accumulated in the storage, and set the state of the document to already read on condition that output of all pages of the document is completed.

An information processing apparatus comprising:
- circuitry configured to:
- accumulate a document received by FAX in a storage;
- control output of the accumulated document based on an operation of a user;
- and
- set a state of the document to unread in response to the document being accumulated in the storage, and set the state of the document to already read on condition that output of all pages of the document is completed.

- a first information processing apparatus that is connected to a public line;
- and
- a second information processing apparatus that is not connected to the public line, wherein
- the first information processing apparatus including first circuitry configured to:
- accumulate a document received by FAX in a storage;
- control transmission of the document accumulated in the storage to the second information processing apparatus. and
- the second information processing apparatus including second circuitry configured to:
- set the state of the document to already read on condition that output of all pages of the document transmitted from the first information processing apparatus and the accumulated document is completed, and
- the first circuitry is further configured to set the state of the document to unread in response to the document being accumulated in the storage, and set the state of the document to already read on condition that output of all pages of the document is completed and the state of the document is set to already read in the second information processing apparatus.
