Abstract
The disclosure relates to recombinant microorganisms for the production of fatty amines and derivatives thereof. Further contemplated are cultured recombinant host cells as well as methods of producing fatty amines by employing these host cells.

A recombinant bacterial cell for the production of a fatty amine, the recombinant bacterial cell comprising:
- (i) an exogenously expressed transaminase;
- (ii) an exogenously expressed carboxylic acid reductase (CAR);
- and
- (iii) an exogenously expressed phosphopanthetheinyl transferase (PPTase).

A method for preparing a fatty amine, the method comprising:
- culturing a recombinant bacterial cell that comprises:
- an exogenously expressed carboxylic acid reductase (CAR) and an exogenously expressed phosphopanthetheinyl transferase (PPTase);
- and an exogenously expressed transaminase;
- in a fermentation broth comprising a carbon source.
