Abstract
The present disclosure relates to water-soluble binder compositions comprising at least one carbohydrate component and at least one nitrogen-containing compound. In addition, methods for manufacturing the disclosed compositions, as well as methods for reducing or eliminating particulate generation and/or exothermic heat production associated with mineable compositions such as coal, are provided.
Claims16
An aqueous curable binder composition comprising:
- a) at least one carbohydrate component;
- b) at least one amine component;
- and
- c) at least one reaction product comprising one or more reaction products of the at least one carbohydrate component with the at least one amine component;
- wherein the aqueous curable binder composition is dispersible under ambient temperature and pressure conditions, and
- wherein the aqueous curable binder composition eliminates or reduces moisture loss when applied to an article or composition of matter.
