Abstract
A storage container having a base storage compartment configured to receive a divider by which the storage compartment is divided into two or more sub-compartments, wherein divider comprises one or more engagement features for selectively engaging with the storage container, the storage container further having a retainer lid configured to retain a divider within an engagement surface of the storage container.

A storage container, comprising:
- a base having an interior floor surface comprising a plurality of grooves having a depth that extends below a plane of the interior floor surface;
- an exterior sidewall coupled to the base and enclosing the base, the exterior sidewall having an inner surface, an outer surface and a raised perimeter edge interposed therebetween and defining an opening of the container;
- and
- an engagement surface formed in the raised perimeter edge such that the engagement surface extends between the inner surface and the outer surface of the exterior sidewall and is aligned with at least one of the plurality of grooves.

A storage system, comprising:
- a storage container, comprising:
- a base having an interior floor surface comprising a plurality of grooves having a depth that extends below a plane of the interior floor surface;
- an exterior sidewall coupled to the base and enclosing the base, the exterior sidewall having an inner surface, an outer surface and a raised perimeter edge interposed therebetween and defining an opening of the container;
- and
- a u-shaped receptacle formed in the raised perimeter edge such that the u-shaped receptacle extends between the inner surface and the outer surface of the exterior sidewall and is aligned with at least one of the plurality of grooves;
- a divider having a bottom edge configured to engage one of the plurality of grooves;
- and
- a retainer lid configured to couple to the base and having an opening through which an interior volume of the base may be accessed, a portion of the retainer lid configured to cover the raised perimeter edge.
