A molding jaw for producing a preferably corrugated plastic pipe from a molten plastic tube, comprising:

• a molding surface;
• and
• a sensor device which comprises at least one sensor with a data-capturing sensor head, which is arranged such that it has a capture area comprising an area of the molding surface and/or an area of a receiving space.

A molding jaw pair formed of two molding jaws, each molding jaw comprising a molding surface, and a sensor device which comprises at least one sensor with a data-capturing sensor head, which is arranged such that it has a capture area comprising an area of the molding surface and/or an area of a receiving space

• ,wherein
• the two molding surfaces of the two molding jaws each having the sensor device complement each other, forming a substantially cylindrical inner surface.

A method for producing preferably corrugated plastic pipe, comprising:

• a guiding an extruded molten plastic tube and/or plastic pipe along a molding path with at least one molding jaw having a molding surface and a sensor device, the sensor device comprising at least one sensor with a data-capturing sensor head, which is arranged such that it has a capture area comprising an area of the molding surface and/or an area of a receiving space, and in the meantime:
• a capturing the state of the molten plastic tube and/or plastic pipe in situ in the molding path formed by the molding jaw by means of the sensor device.
