Abstract
A method of depositing an extrudable substance onto a surface. The method comprises the step of delivering the extrudable substance from a cartridge to a flow-bypass assembly. The method further comprises the step of selectively controlling the flow-bypass assembly to purge air from the extrudable substance before the extrudable substance enters a delivery tube. The method further comprises the step of selectively controlling the flow-bypass assembly to deliver the extrudable substance from the flow-bypass assembly to a valve assembly via the delivery tube. The method further comprises the step of controlling flow of the extrudable substance from the valve assembly to a nozzle.

A method (1000) of depositing an extrudable substance (102) onto a surface (126), the method (1000) comprising steps of:
- delivering the extrudable substance (102) from a cartridge (116) to a flow-bypass assembly (114);
- selectively controlling the flow-bypass assembly (114) to purge air from the extrudable substance (102) before the extrudable substance (102) enters a delivery tube (130);
- selectively controlling the flow-bypass assembly (114) to deliver the extrudable substance (102) from the flow-bypass assembly (114) to a valve assembly (112) via the delivery tube (130);
- and
- controlling flow of the extrudable substance (102) from the valve assembly (112) to a nozzle (118).
A system (128) for depositing an extrudable substance (102) onto a surface (126), the system (128) comprising:
- a cartridge (116), configured to contain the extrudable substance (102);
- a flow-bypass assembly (114), communicatively coupled with the cartridge (116) and configured to selectively purge air from the extrudable substance (102);
- a delivery tube (130), comprising:
- a first delivery-tube end (136), communicatively coupled with the flow-bypass assembly (114);
- and
- a second delivery-tube end (138), in communication with the first delivery-tube end (136);
- a valve assembly (112), communicatively coupled with the second delivery-tube end (138);
- and
- a nozzle (118), communicatively coupled with the valve assembly (112).
