Generating software artifacts from a conceptional data model

A system, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
• define a conceptual data model comprising an entity, a plurality of platforms, and first metadata that describes deployment requirements for each platform in the plurality of platforms, wherein the first metadata comprises platform-specific access requirements;
• create for each platform in the plurality of platforms, a logical data model comprising second metadata that describes deployment requirements for a storage mechanism;
• create a storage-specific entity definition based on the conceptual data model and the first metadata;
• generate for each platform in the plurality of platforms, platform-specific installation scripts and platform-specific data population scripts based on the second metadata and the storage-specific entity definition;
• and
• deploy the entity into each platform in the plurality of platforms using the platform specific installation scripts and the platform-specific data population scripts.

A non-transitory computer-readable device having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising:

• defining a conceptual data model comprising an entity, a plurality of platforms, and first metadata that describes deployment requirements for each platform in the plurality of platforms, wherein the first metadata comprises platform-specific access requirements;
• creating for each platform in the plurality of platforms, a logical data model comprising second metadata that describes deployment requirements for a storage mechanism;
• creating a storage-specific entity definition based on the conceptual data model and the first metadata;
• generating for each platform in the plurality of platforms, platform-specific installation scripts and platform-specific data population scripts based on the second metadata and the storage-specific entity definition;
• and
• deploying the entity into each platform in the plurality of platforms using the platform-specific installation scripts and the platform-specific data population scripts.
