A liquid developer that can show excellent adhesiveness with respect to plastic film media even if a base layer is not formed, the liquid developer includes a toner particle and a carrier liquid, where the toner particle contains a resin including a monomer unit (1) represented by the formula (1).

A liquid developer comprising:
- a toner particle;
- and
- a carrier liquid, wherein
- the toner particle contains a resin including a monomer unit (1) represented by a formula (1):
- where, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2 represents an alkyl group having a 6 to 18 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having 6 to 18 carbon atoms.
