Abstract
Provided herein are methods and systems of molecular profiling of diseases, such as cancer. In some embodiments, the molecular profiling can be used to identify treatments that have likely benefit for a cancer, such as treatments that were not initially identified as a treatment for the disease or not expected to be a treatment for a particular disease. The molecular profiling can be used to identify likely have lack of benefit for treating the cancer.
Claims23
A data processing system for analyzing data stored in a relational database in order to identify one or more candidate treatments for a cancer in a subject, the data processing system comprising:
- one or more computers;
- one or more relational databases that are hosted by at least one of the one or more computers;
- and
- one or more computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more computers, cause the one or more computer to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining, by the one or more computers, a first data structure that includes one or more first fields structuring data that represents a set of one or more biomarkers;
- accessing, by the one or more computers, the one or more relational databases storing records, with each record being represented by a second data structure having one or more second fields structuring data representing scientific publications that each correspond to one or more biomarkers, wherein the scientific publications describe mappings between one or more treatments and one or more biomarkers;
- generating, by the one or more computers, one or more third data structures that each include one or more fields structuring data representing a set of candidate treatments based on processing, by the one or more computers, (i) the stored records represented by the one or more second data structures and (ii) the obtained first data structure;
- and
- generating, by the one or more computers, rendering data, wherein the rendering data, when processed by the one or more computers, causes the one or more computers to display a visualization that includes a visual representation of the set of candidate treatments represented by the one or more third data structures.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing software comprising instructions executable by one or more computers which, upon such execution, cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- obtaining, by the one or more computers, a first data structure that includes one or more first fields structuring data that represents a set of one or more biomarkers;
- accessing, by the one or more computers, one or more relational databases storing records, with each record being represented by a second data structure having one or more second fields structuring data representing scientific publications that each correspond to one or more biomarkers, wherein the scientific publications describe mappings between one or more treatments and one or more biomarkers;
- generating, by the one or more computers, one or more third data structures that each include one or more fields structuring data representing a set of candidate treatments based on processing, by the one or more computers, (i) the one or more records represented by the one or more second data structures and (ii) the obtained first data structure;
- and
- generating, by the one or more computers, rendering data, wherein the rendering data, when processed by the one or more computers, causes the one or more computers to display a visualization that includes a visual representation of the set of candidate treatments represented by the one or more third data structures.
A method for analyzing data stored in a relational database in order to identify one or more candidate treatments for a cancer in a subject, the method comprising:
- obtaining, by one or more computers, a first data structure that includes one or more first fields structuring data that represents a set of one or more biomarkers;
- accessing, by the one or more computers, one or more records stored in a relational database, with each of the one or more records being represented by a second data structure having one or more second fields structuring data representing scientific publications that each correspond to one or more biomarkers, wherein the scientific publications describe mappings between one or more treatments and one or more biomarkers;
- generating, by the one or more computers, one or more third data structures that each include one or more fields structuring data representing a set of candidate treatments based on processing, by the one or more computers, (i) the one or more records represented by the one or more second data structures and (ii) the obtained first data structure;
- and
- generating, by the one or more computers, rendering data, wherein the rendering data, when processed by the one or more computers, causes the one or more computers to display a visualization that includes a visual representation of the set of candidate treatments represented by the one or more third data structures.
