Abstract
The instant disclosure relates to hair treatment compositions that include a unique combination of components that function to impart desirable cosmetic properties to the hair. The hair treatment compositions typically include a cationic cellulosic quaternary ammonium compound; pectin; a cationic surfactant including cationizable surfactants together with an acid neutralizer; glyceryl ester; fatty alcohol; polyol; and water; wherein the weight ratio of the cationic cellulosic quaternary ammonium compound to pectin is from about 0.5 to about 5.
Claims15
A hair treatment composition comprising:
- (a) at least one cationic cellulosic quaternary ammonium compound;
- (b) pectin, in an amount of about 0.01 to about 10 wt. %, based on the total weight of the hair treatment composition;
- (c) at least one cationic surfactant;
- (d) at least one glyceryl ester;
- (e) at least one fatty alcohol;
- at least one polyol;
- and
- (g) water;
- wherein the weight ratio of the cationic cellulosic quaternary ammonium compound to pectin is from about 0.5 to about 5.
