Adapter for a Robotic Surgical Tool Cleaning System

A method of cleaning a robotic surgical tool, comprising:

• mating a drive housing of the robotic surgical tool with a frame of an adapter for an autowasher system, the frame including:
• a shoulder defined on the frame and at least partially circumscribing a basin defined in the frame;
• and
• one or more fluid apertures defined in the basin and extending through the frame from a top surface to a bottom surface;
• extending one or more alignment features protruding from the frame into a corresponding one or more apertures defined in a bottom of the drive housing and thereby aligning the drive housing with the frame;
• introducing a cleaning solution into an interior of the drive housing using the adapter;
• and
• draining the cleaning solution from the drive housing and the adapter via the one or more fluid apertures.
