Mounting device and mounting method

A method of mounting an electronic component by using a mounting device provided with a holding structure configured to hold the electronic component, and a regulating structure configured to regulate a radial position of a lead of the electronic component, the method comprising:

• holding the electronic component by the holding structure;
• regulating the position of the lead at a first location by the regulating structure;
• regulating, by the regulating structure, the position of the lead at a second location more distant from the holding structure than the first part, by moving the holding structure and the regulating structure relative to each other while the holding structure holds the electronic component;
• and
• mounting the electronic component onto a substrate.

A mounting device, comprising:

• means for holding an electronic component;
• and
• means for regulating a radial position of a lead of the electronic component,
• wherein the means for regulating is configured to regulate the position of the lead at a first location, and is configured to regulate the position of the lead at a second location more distant from the means for holding than the first location, and
• wherein, by the means for holding and the means for regulating move relative to each other while the means for holding holds the electronic component, the means for regulating moves between a position at which the position of the lead is regulated at the first location and a position at which the position of the lead is regulated at the second location.
