## Abstract

A method for scanning a touch screen includes: scanning the touch screen in a first scanning manner, the first scanning manner using a first report rate; and switching to a second scanning manner to scan the touch screen in response to detecting that the touch screen is touched in the first scanning manner, the second scanning manner using a second report rate. The number of scan regions into which the touch screen is divided in the first scanning manner is smaller than that of scan regions into which the touch screen is divided in the second scanning manner, and the first report rate is greater than or equal to the second report rate.

determining whether a current available power of the touch screen is less than a preset threshold and, if yes, determining to scan the touch screen in the first scanning manner.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method according to claim 1, wherein after the switching to a second scanning manner to scan the touch screen, the method further comprises:
switching to the first scanning manner to scan the touch screen in response to detecting, in the second scanning manner, that the touch screen is not touched within a preset time period.

### Claim 7

An apparatus for scanning a touch screen, comprising:
a processor, and

determine, based on a usage state of the touch screen, to scan the touch screen in the first scanning manner.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The apparatus according to claim 10, wherein the processor is specifically configured to perform at least one action of:
determining whether an application program displayed on the touch screen is sensitive to touch response speed and, if yes, determining to scan the touch screen in the first scanning manner; or
determining whether a current available power of the touch screen is less than a preset threshold and, if yes, determining to scan the touch screen in the first scanning manner.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the processor is further configured to:
switch to the first scanning manner to scan the touch screen in response to detecting, in the second scanning manner, that the touch screen is not touched within a preset time period.

### Claim 13
