## Abstract

The present invention concerns a device, system and method of use of a multi-capture Compton camera, characterised by the use of at least two capture centres having separate positions.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A multi-capture Compton camera, comprising at least two capture centres having separate positions.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The multi-capture Compton camera according to claim 1, wherein the separate positions are separated by a distance less than or equal to twice the angular resolution of the Compton camera capture centre.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The multi-capture Compton camera according to claim 2, wherein the separate positions are separated by a distance less than but close to twice the angular resolution of the Compton camera capture centre.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The multi-capture Compton camera according claim 2, wherein the separate positions are disposed along an arc centred on the position of the gamma-ray source.

### Claim 5

A multi-capture Compton camera consisting of two adjacent detection assemblies observing the same field of view, wherein the two detection assemblies are separated by an angular distance greater than 1° at the maximum range of the camera in order to make it possible to observe displacement of a point source at the maximum range between two images taken simultaneously.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The multi-capture Compton camera according to claim 1, wherein the same effect is produced by a precisely known relative movement of the camera between two shots, the position of the optical axis of the camera also being known.

### Claim 7

A method of estimating the distance from a radioactive source by triangulation of gamma rays utilizing a camera to estimate the distance from a radioactive source by triangulation of gamma rays.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The method according to claim 6 further comprising eliminating artefacts, preserving only the points which are preserved between the two images (coherent distance).

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The method according to claim 6 further comprising utilizing the camera to detect and produce an image of very weak sources of <0.1 microrad/h with certainty.

### Claim 10 (depends on 6)

The method according to claim 6 further comprising reconstructing utilizing a multi-capture camera which consists of considering, for the reconstruction, only the intersections of cones arising from camera C1 with those arising from camera C2.
