Abstract
This application is directed to polymer blends of polyethylene naphthalate, polytrimethylene terephthalate, and polyethylene naphthalate, for use in fibers, such as carpet fibers, and other applications. This application is also directed to methods of producing such polymer blends and fibers.

A carpet comprising at least pile yarns, a primary backing and an adhesive material;
- wherein said pile yarns are tufted through said primary backing and extend outwardly from one face of said primary backing, and
- wherein said adhesive material is applied at an opposite face of said primary backing with the back of the tufted pile yarns being sandwiched therein;
- wherein said pile yarns comprise fibers substantially made from a polymer blend comprising polyethylene terephthalate, polytrimethylene terephthalate and polyethylene napthalate;
- said pile yarns being dyed.
