Abstract
Multistream transmissions are provided for user equipment (UE) including a transceiver configured to receive an L-layer data transmission that includes at least one codeblock (CB). The CB includes a length-N cyclic redundancy code (CRC). The transceiver is also configured to receive a downlink control information (DCI) associated with the data transmission. The UE further includes a processor operably connected to the transceiver. The processor is configured to decode the data transmission, the CRC, and the DCI. The data transmission includes one codeword (CW) when L is less than or equal to a threshold and two CWs when L is greater than the threshold.
Claims21
A user equipment (UE), comprising:
- a transceiver configured to
- receive, from a base station, downlink control information (DCI) associated with downlink data including at least one codeword, the DCI indicating a number of layers for the downlink data, and
- receive, from the base station, one or more codewords comprising the downlink data through one or more layers based on the number of layers indicated by the DCI;
- and
- a processor operably coupled to the transceiver, the processor configured to decode the DCI and the one or more codewords,
- wherein, when the number of the layers indicated by the DCI is less than or equal to four, a number of the codewords is one, and
- wherein, when the number of the layers indicated by the DCI is greater than four, the number of the codewords is two.
A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a base station, downlink control information (DCI) associated with downlink data including at least one codeword, the DCI indicating a number of layers for the downlink data;
- and
- receiving, from the base station, one or more codewords comprising the downlink data through one or more layers based on the number of layers indicated by the DCI,
- wherein, when the number of the layers indicated by the DCI is less than or equal to four, a number of the codewords is one, and
- wherein, when the number of the layers indicated by the DCI is greater than four, the number of the codewords is two.
A base station (BS), comprising:
- a transceiver configured to
- transmit, to a user equipment (UE), downlink control information (DCI) associated with downlink data including at least one codeword, the DCI indicating a number of layers for the downlink data, and
- transmit, to the UE, one or more codewords comprising the downlink data through one or more layers based on the number of layers indicated by the DCI;
- and
- a processor operably coupled to the transceiver, the processor configured to encode the DCI and the one or more codewords,
- wherein, when the number of the layers indicated by the DCI is less than or equal to four, a number of the codewords is one, and
- wherein, when the number of the layers indicated by the DCI is greater than four, the number of the codewords is two.
