Abstract
A pinned roller bearing assembly and cage wherein the pin has two ends, a first end received in a first support ring, and a second end received in a second support ring, the pin comprising a threaded portion at one of the first or second ends, and the other end which is not threaded, or at least one shouldered end for engaging a countersunk support ring, or both a threaded end and one or both ends being shouldered.
Claims13
A roller bearing pin for a pinned cylindrical roller bearing, said pin comprising a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the pin comprises threads to threadingly engage a support ring of a roller bearing assembly wherein the support ring comprises a threaded aperture formed therein to engage the threaded end of the pin, and wherein the second end of the pin is unthreaded.
A pinned cylindrical roller bearing comprising a cylindrical roller which moves within an inner and outer race, and a pin disposed through an axial length of the cylindrical roller, wherein the pin comprise a first end and a second end each affixed to a support ring on each side of the bearing and between the inner and outer race, and wherein one of said first end or second end is threaded, wherein the pin is threadingly engaged with a threaded aperture formed in a first support ring and the unthreaded end is unthreadingly engaged to an unthreaded aperture formed in a second support ring.
The roller bearing of claim 5, wherein the first and second ends of the pin are hot-riveted to form domed ends outside the support ring to which it is engaged.
A pinned cylindrical roller bearing comprising a cylindrical roller which moves within an inner and outer race, and a pin disposed through an axial length of the cylindrical roller, wherein the pin comprise a first end and a second end each affixed to a support ring on each side of the bearing and between the inner and outer race, and wherein the first and second ends of the pin are unthreaded and are unthreadingly engaged to an unthreaded aperture formed in each support ring.
A method of manufacturing a roller bearing pin comprising forming threads on one end of the pin for matingly engaging a threaded aperture formed in a roller bearing support ring for receiving the threaded end of the pin.
