Abstract
A noncorrosive, water-impermeable gasket is used between a wheel rim and a hub assembly so that they do not corrode together making their separation difficult or impossible. The gasket includes a gasket flange with a gasket bolt pattern that is alignable with a hub bolt pattern of the hub assembly and a rim bolt pattern of the wheel rim.
Claims30
A gasket for use between a wheel rim comprising at least a rim center bore with a rim center bore diameter;
- a rim inner flange surrounding the rim center bore;
- and a rim bolt pattern disposed through the rim inner flange, and a hub assembly comprising at least a center lip with a lip diameter less than the rim center bore diameter;
- a wheel mounting flange surrounding the center lip;
- a hub bolt pattern disposed through the wheel mounting flange, wherein the hub bolt pattern is alignable with the rim bolt pattern when the rim inner flange and wheel mounting flange are positioned flush against one another, said gasket comprising a flat doughnut-shaped disc comprising:
- a gasket center bore that is a hole in said disc that is concentric with said disc and comprises a gasket center bore diameter greater than the lip diameter of the hub assembly;
- and
- a gasket flange concentric with and surrounding said gasket center bore and comprising a gasket bolt pattern comprising at least one opening through said gasket flange, wherein said gasket bolt pattern is alignable with the rim bolt pattern of the wheel rim and the hub bolt pattern of the hub assembly;
- wherein said gasket comprises a core surrounded by a coating and at least said coating is made of a noncorrosive, water-impermeable material.

A gasket kit comprising:
- a hub assembly comprising at least:
- a center lip with a lip diameter;
- a wheel mounting flange concentric with and surrounding said center lip such that said center lip extends upward from said wheel mounting flange and is in a parallel center lip plane to a wheel mounting flange plane in which said wheel mounting flange is disposed;
- and
- a hub bolt pattern comprising at least four hub assembly holes disposed through said wheel mounting flange;
- and
- a gasket comprising a flat doughnut-shaped disc, comprising:
- a gasket center bore that is a hole in said disc that is concentric with said disc and comprises a gasket center bore diameter greater than said lip diameter of said hub assembly;
- and
- a gasket flange concentric with and surrounding said gasket center bore and comprising a gasket bolt pattern comprising at least one opening through said gasket flange, wherein said gasket bolt pattern is alignable with said hub bolt pattern of said hub assembly when said gasket is placed flush against said hub assembly such that said center lip of said hub assembly extends through said gasket center bore of said gasket;
- wherein said gasket comprises a core surrounded by a coating and at least said coating is made of a noncorrosive, water-impermeable material.

The kit as claimed in claim 19, wherein said core of said gasket is also made of said noncorrosive, water-impermeable material.
A gasket kit comprising:
- a wheel rim comprising at least:
- a rim center bore;
- a rim inner flange concentric with and surrounding said rim center bore;
- and
- a rim bolt pattern comprising at least four wheel rim holes disposed through said rim inner flange;
- and
- a gasket comprising a flat doughnut-shaped disc, comprising:
- a gasket center bore that is a hole in said disc that is concentric with said disc;
- and
- a gasket flange concentric with and surrounding said gasket center bore and comprising a gasket bolt pattern comprising at least one opening through said gasket flange, wherein said gasket bolt pattern is alignable with said rim bolt pattern of said wheel rim when said gasket is placed flush against said wheel rim;
- wherein said gasket comprises a core surrounded by a coating and at least said coating is made of a noncorrosive, water-impermeable material.
