Mobile mixing devices, systems, and related methods

A method of using a single mobile mixing device for multiple mixing purposes, the method comprising:

• providing a mobile mixing device comprising:
• a frame;
• a mixing drum securable to the frame, the mixing drum comprising a body that forms an internal cavity and having a forward end and a bottom end, the mixing drum comprising a mouth at the forward end of the body that provides access to the internal cavity of the mixing drum;
• a heater support arm comprising a heater secured to an end of the heater support arm that is distal from the mixing drum, the heater support arm being movable between a stow-away position such that the heater support arm is off to a side of the mixing drum and a heating position with the heater facing into the mouth of the mixing drum;
• and
• a mixing drum drive engageable with the mixing drum to rotate the mixing drum;
• and
• loading the mixing drum with concrete mix and water through the mouth of the mixing drum;
• rotating the mixing drum to process the concrete mix and water within the internal cavity of the mixing drum to make a pourable concrete;
• tilting the mixing drum to pour the mixed concrete from the mouth of the mixing drum into a desired location;
• cleaning the internal cavity of the mixing drum to remove remnants of the concrete;
• loading the mixing drum with asphalt mix;
• moving the heater support arm from the stow-away position to the heating position;
• rotating the mixing drum to process the asphalt mix within the mixing drum;
• heating the asphalt mix with the heater by providing heat to the internal cavity through the mouth of the mixing drum with the heater;
• moving the heater support arm from the stow-away position to the heating position;
• tilting the mixing drum to pour the mixed asphalt into a desired location;
• and
• cleaning the internal cavity of the mixing drum to remove remnants of the asphalt.
