An aqueous pigment dispersion comprising:
- a pigment;
- and
- at least one dispersing agent having the formula I:
- wherein
- R1 is selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aryl group;
- L represents a divalent linking group including 2 to 10 carbon atoms;
- R2, R3, and R4 are independently selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkaryl group, and a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aryl group;
- any of R1, R2, R3, R4, and L may represent atoms necessary to form a five to eight membered ring;
- R5 represents a hydrocarbon group including at least 8 carbon atoms;
- and
- X− represents an anion to compensate for a positive charge of the ammonium group.
