Abstract
A method for treating movement disorders is provided. The method includes the following operations. A central nervous signal of a patient with movement disorders is recorded. A first stimulation is delivered from a stimulator to the patient when an oscillation episode in a range of from about 3 Hz to about 20 Hz is observed in the central nervous signal. The first stimulation is adapted according to a measurable feature of the oscillation episode. The system for treating movement disorders is also provided.
Claims20
A method for treating movement disorders, comprising:
- recording a central nervous signal of a patient with movement disorders;
- delivering a first stimulation from a stimulator to the patient when an oscillation episode in a range of from about 3 Hz to about 20 Hz is observed in the central nervous signal;
- and
- adapting the first stimulation according to a measurable feature of the oscillation episode.
A method for treating movement disorders, comprising:
- implementing a closed-loop treatment, comprising:
- identifying an oscillation of an electroencephalography (EEG) of a patient in a range of from about 3 Hz to about 20 Hz;
- delivering a non-invasive stimulation to the patient subsequent to identifying the oscillation.
A system for treating movement disorders, comprising:
- a plurality of electrodes, configured to probe a first region of a brain of a patient with movement disorders and collect a central nervous signal of the patient;
- a closed-loop controller coupled to the electrodes, configured to identify an oscillation episode of the central nervous signal in the range of from about 3 Hz to about 20 Hz in the central nervous signal;
- an electrical signal generator coupled to the closed-loop controller, configured to generate a stimulation;
- and
- a stimulation lead coupled to the electrical signal generator, configured to deliver the stimulation to a second region of the brain of the patient.
