Abstract
The present invention relates to administration methods and dosage regimens for treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular ALS, using trametinib. The administration methods and dosage regimens induce neural regeneration and changes in gene expression.

A method of treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), comprising the step of administering an effective amount of trametinib to a patient diagnosed with ALS.
The method of claim 19, wherein the cathepsin is selected from the group consisting of:
- Cathepsin S, Cathepsin D, Cathepsin B, Cathepsin K, and Cathepsin L.
