Apparatus and methods for safely collecting and disposing of sharps waste

A method for sequestering sharps waste, comprising:

• providing a vacuuming apparatus including:
• a passageway including a sidewall defining an interior chamber, the passageway including a suction end and an open nozzle end dimensioned to receive a sharps waste,
• a fan configured to move air from the open nozzle end to the suction end,
• a discharge port disposed on the sidewall between the suction end and the open nozzle end, and
• a container disposed on the discharge port;
• rotating the fan to move air from the open nozzle end to the suction end;
• positioning the open nozzle end proximate to the sharps waste to sequester the sharps waste.

A discharge apparatus for collecting sharps waste, comprising:

• a rigid body including a fan side, a nozzle side disposed oppositely on the rigid body from the fan side, and a container side disposed orthogonally from the fan side and the nozzle side;
• and
• a cavity extending from the nozzle side to the open nozzle end and extending to the open container end,
• wherein the open nozzle end is configured to securely and releasably receive a nozzle,
• wherein the nozzle side is configured to securely and releasably receive a suction tube, and
• wherein the container side is configured to securely and releasably receive a container.
