Abstract
The present invention comprises scanning, by a mobile device of the user, a QR code generated by a server application when the user requests access to a secure web portal and generating, within a client application, a login code which is used to authenticate the user within an authentication service and then being redirected to the requested portal.
Claims18
A method for secure authentication by a user comprising:
- the user sends a request from a client application to a server application requesting access to a portal;
- the server application generates a login page including an encoded symbol and transmits the login page to the client application;
- the client application receives the login page;
- a mobile device of the user uploads the encoded symbol from the client application and generates a login code using information in the encoded symbol and transmits the login code to the server application;
- and
- the server application authenticates the login code and redirects the client application to the portal allowing the client application to connect with the portal.

A method for secure authentication by a user using a user interactive unit, the method comprising:
- the user sends a request from a client application in the user interactive unit to a server application requesting access to a portal;
- the server application generates a login page including a matrix barcode and transmits the login page to the client application;
- the client application receives the login page;
- a mobile device of the user uploads the matrix barcode from the client application and generates a login code using information in the matrix barcode and transmits the login code to the server application;
- and
- the server application authenticates the login code allows the client application to connect with the portal.
