Past patient records (EHR) can be instantly searched using the assigned codes during the patient encounter, thereby allowing the clinician to make a more complete diagnosis and plan of treatment. The search of past patient records utilizes the assigned codes as a search index thereby filtering out unrelated-non relevant patient medical history. Clinician notations of symptoms and possible diagnosis can be utilized for an expanded correlation to codes of medical code protocols relevant to treatment or tests.
