Autonomous vehicle signaling system

A visual indicator system, comprising:

• a sensor system that includes a light detector that distinguishes light of visual indicators from other light sources;
• a first visual indicator;
• a processing system coupled to the sensor system and the first visual indicator;
• and
• a memory system that is coupled to the processing system and that includes instructions that, when executed by the processing system, cause the processing system to provide a visual indicator module that is configured to:
• receive first sensor data via the sensor system, wherein at least a portion of the first sensor data includes a first visual indication from a second visual indicator in a physical environment;
• determine based on at least the first visual indication that a first condition is satisfied;
• and
• provide, in response to the first condition being satisfied and via a first portion of the first visual indicator, a second visual indication that is associated with the first condition to the physical environment.

A tangible machine-readable storage medium including machine readable instructions which, when executed, cause one or more processors of a device to perform operations comprising:

• receiving first sensor data, wherein at least a portion of the first sensor data includes a first visual indication provided by first visual indicator in a physical environment;
• determining based on at least the first visual indication in the first sensor data that a first condition is satisfied;
• and
• providing, in response to the first condition being satisfied and via a second visual indicator, a second visual indication that is associated with the first condition to the physical environment.
