Rapid store load system for aircraft and method of operation thereof

A system to load stores on an aircraft, comprising:

• at least one actuator;
• one or more lift portions;
• at least one sensor configured to form sensor information;
• and
• a controller configured to:
• assign one or more stores to the aircraft;
• and
• control at least one actuator to:
• control a position of the aircraft;
• load the one or more stores onto the one or more corresponding lift portions;
• position the one or more stores relative to a position of the aircraft determined in accordance with sensor information from the at least one sensor;
• and
• secure the one or more stores to the aircraft.

A method to load stores on an aircraft, the method performed by at least one controller communicating with at least one actuator and comprising acts of:

• receiving an aircraft for servicing at a flight deck;
• assigning one or more stores to the aircraft;
• controlling the at least one actuator to:
• control a position of the aircraft in accordance with the sensor information;
• load the one or more stores onto one or more corresponding lift portions;
• position the one or more stores relative to a position of the aircraft determined in accordance with sensor information from at least one sensor;
• and
• secure the one or more stores to the aircraft.

A system to load stores on an aircraft with stores, comprising:

• a flight deck to receive an aircraft;
• at least one sensor to determine a position of the aircraft;
• at least one lift portion configured to receive one or more stores assigned to the aircraft;
• and
• a controller which is configured to control at least one actuator to:
• control a position of the aircraft in accordance with sensor information obtained from the at least one sensor;
• control the at least one lift portion to position the received one or more assigned stores relative to a position of the aircraft, and
• secure the one or more assigned stores to the aircraft.
