An apparatus comprising:
- an elongate member comprising a braided portion, an unbraided portion, and a lumen extending through the braided portion and the unbraided portion, wherein the braided portion is proximal to the unbraided portion and the lumen is configured to receive a catheter including an ultrasound transducer;
- and
- a hyperechoic material disposed in the unbraided portion of the elongate member, the hyperechoic material to indicate a position of a tissue sampling element in an image generated by the ultrasound transducer.
An apparatus comprising:
- an elongate member comprising a braided portion, an unbraided portion, and a lumen extending through the braided portion and the unbraided portion, wherein the braided portion is proximal to the unbraided portion and the lumen is configured to receive a catheter including an ultrasound transducer;
- and
- a hyperechoic material disposed in the unbraided portion of the elongate member, the braided portion of the elongate member configured to transmit torque to rotate the hyperechoic material when the elongate member is disposed within a body lumen.
A method, comprising:
- advancing an elongate member into a body lumen, the elongate member comprising a braided portion, an unbraided portion, and a lumen extending through the braided portion and the unbraided portion, wherein a hyperechoic material is disposed in the unbraided portion of the elongate member;
- and
- rotating the elongate member to align a tissue sampling element with a nodule in the body lumen based on indication of the hyperechoic material in an image generated by an ultrasound transducer positioned in the lumen of the elongate member.
