Abstract
The magenta toner is excellent in image density, has an enhanced chargeability, and can be produced at a low cost. The magenta toner includes a binder resin and a magenta colorant. A compound A represented by the following general formula (1) and C.I. Solvent Violet 59 are contained as the magenta colorant.
Claims4
A magenta toner comprising a binder resin and a magenta colorant,
- wherein a compound A represented by the following general formula (1) and C.I. Solvent Violet 59 are contained as the magenta colorant, and
- wherein a total content of the compound A and the C.I. Solvent Violet 59 is from 3 to 30 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the binder resin, and a mass ratio of the content of the compound A to the content of the C.I. Solvent Violet 59 (compound A/C.I. Solvent Violet 59) is from 0.8 to 20:
- where R1 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkoxy group;
- R2 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group;
- R3 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group or a nitro group;
- R4 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group;
- R5 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a primary amide group (—CONH2);
- and
- R6 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a phenylaminocarbonyl group (—CONHC6H5), a primary amide group (—CONH2), —CONHC6H4-(p)CONH2 or —SO2 (C2H5)2.
