Abstract
In one aspect, a mounting assembly for mounting an architectural covering to a support structure may include a bracket configured to be coupled to the support structure and a bracket adapter configured to be coupled to the bracket. In addition, the mounting assembly may include an end mount configured to be coupled to both an adjacent end of the covering and the bracket adapter. In accordance with aspects of the present subject matter, the various components of the mounting assembly may be configured or adapted to provide one or more advantages over known mounting assemblies.

A mounting assembly for a cover assembly for an architectural feature, said mounting assembly comprising:
- a bracket configured to be mounted relative to an architectural feature;
- a bracket-adapter configured to be removably coupled to said bracket, said bracket-adapter including a first engagement portion having first engagement structure provided in operative association therewith;
- an end mount configured to be coupled to an end of the cover assembly, said end-mount including a second engagement portion having second engagement structure provided in operative association therewith;
- wherein:
- one of said first engagement portion or said second engagement portion is configured to be inserted axially within the other of said first engagement portion or said second engagement portion such that said first and second engagement structures circumferentially engage each other to prevent or limit relative rotation between said end mount and said bracket-adapter;
- and
- said first and second engagement structures allow for a circumferential orientation of said end mount relative to said bracket-adapter to be incrementally adjusted based on a selected circumferential alignment of said first and second engagement structures prior to relative axial installation between said first and second engagement portions.
A method for mounting a cover assembly relative to an architectural feature, the cover assembly including an end mount coupled thereto, the method comprising:
- coupling a bracket-adapter to a bracket mounted relative to an architectural feature, the bracket-adapter including a first engagement portion having first engagement structure provided in operative association therewith;
- positioning the end mount relative to the bracket adapter such that a second engagement portion of the end mount is aligned with the first engagement portion of the bracket-adapter in a first axial direction, the second engagement portion of the end mount having second engagement structure provided in operative association therewith;
- and
- moving the end mount relative to the bracket-adapter in the first axial direction such that one of the first engagement portion or the second engagement portion is received axially within the other of the first engagement portion or the second engagement portion and the first and second engagement structures circumferentially engage each other to prevent or limit relative rotation between the end mount and the bracket-adapter.
