### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

A method as recited in claim 1 wherein the communication unit associated with the first defibrillator is one of:
a component of the first defibrillator;
part of an interface unit that is detachably mounted on the first defibrillator to form a unitary portable defibrillator system;
physically attached to the first defibrillator;
not physically attached to the first defibrillator; or
part of a dock or cabinet that holds the first defibrillator.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

A method as recited in claim 1 wherein a weighting based multi-objective optimization selection algorithm is used to select the first set of defibrillators.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)
