A method comprising:

• a) predicting a state of overweight Body Mass Index with Type II diabetes in a subject by:
• i) providing a microbiome sample from a human subject;
• ii) determining, from the sample, a quantitative measure of microbes in microbial genus taxonomic grouping “929”;
• and
• iii) applying a model to the quantitative measure to predict a state of overweight Body Mass Index with Type II diabetes;
• and
• b) where the subject is found to have overweight Body Mass Index with Type II diabetes, determining for the subject a therapeutic intervention plan comprising administration of a food, a supplement, a probiotic, or pharmaceutical, in an amount or degree sufficient to improve the state of the overweight Body Mass Index with Type II diabetes;
• and
• c) outputting the intervention plan to an electronic device accessible by the subject.
