A dispersion composition that has good storage stability, achieves high density of a colorant when used as ink, has good redispersibility after drying, and preserves the physical properties of ink when stored for a long period of time is provided. The dispersion composition comprises: (A) a dye and/or a pigment; (B) a styrene-(meth)acrylic copolymer; and (C) a compound represented by the following formula (1): where t represents 1 to 5, wherein a content of (C) the compound represented by the formula (1) is more than 0.18 mass %, and a sum total of a sodium ion concentration, a potassium ion concentration, and a lithium ion concentration in the ink dispersion composition is 6800 ppm or less.
