Granting access rights to a sub-set of the data set in a user account

A data system for managing user data for a plurality of hearing aid users, each of the plurality of hearing aid users having at least one hearing aid having a memory for storing personal settings for alleviating a hearing loss of the specific hearing aid user, said system comprising:

• a database containing a user account for each of the plurality of hearing aid users, the user account for a specific hearing aid user including personal hearing loss information comprising at least one of an audiogram representing a hearing loss for the specific user or personal settings derived from said audiogram and loadable into said memory for alleviating the hearing loss of the specific hearing aid user;
• a user computer device operated by the specific hearing aid user and being adapted for entering personal information for the specific hearing aid user and gateway information for the at least one hearing aid into the user account;
• wherein the user computer device is adapted for granting rights to a third party to modify data in a sub-set of the user account for the specific hearing aid user;
• and
• a third party computer device operated by the third party adapted to modify, via a remote service session, the personal hearing loss information of the specific hearing aid user.
