Systems And Methods For Voltage Conversion Implementing A Switched-Capacitor Circuit

A voltage conversion method comprising:

• supplying a voltage from a source;
• switching, using a switch capacitor circuit, between a discharging state and a charging state;
• generating a converted voltage of the supplied voltage in response to the switching between the discharging state and the charging state, wherein the converted voltage is a boosted voltage;
• during the charging state, storing a charge on a capacitor;
• during the discharging state, discharging the charge stored in the capacitor;
• and
• supplying the converted voltage to a load via a switching arrangement, wherein the switch capacitor circuit and the switching arrangement are interfaced to produce a unified circuit.

A voltage conversion system comprising:

• a source configured to supply a voltage;
• a switch capacitor circuit electrically coupled to the source and configured to switch between a discharging state and a charging state, wherein switching between the discharging state and the charging state produces a boost to the supplied voltage;
• a capacitor included in the switch capacitor circuit configured to:
• store charge during the charging state;
• and
• drain charge during the discharging state;
• and
• a switching arrangement having a plurality of switch pairs configured to supply a converted voltage to a motor, wherein the capacitor is in a parallel configuration with the motor during the charging state and the capacitor is in a series configuration with the motor during the discharging state, wherein the switching arrangement is a three-level inverter, and wherein the switch capacitor circuit and the switching arrangement are interfaced to produce a unified circuit.
