Abstract
Performance feedback related to media presented to a user is received at a processing system including an analytics module. The performance feedback includes metadata identifying the user. The analytics module determines, based on the metadata included in the performance feedback, whether the performance feedback is related to a valid user. In response to determining that the performance feedback is related to a valid user, the analytics module strips the metadata identifying the user from the performance feedback, and transmits the performance feedback from the processing system to a media proposal server.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, at a processing system including an analytics module, performance feedback related to media presented to a user, wherein the performance feedback includes metadata identifying the user;
- determining, based on the metadata included in the performance feedback, whether the performance feedback is related to a valid user;
- in response to determining that the performance feedback is related to a valid user:
- stripping the metadata identifying the user from the performance feedback;
- and
- transmitting the performance feedback from the processing system to a media proposal server.
A system comprising:
- a processor and associated memory;
- a program of instructions stored in the associated memory and executed by the processor, the program of instructions configured to:
- receive performance feedback related to media presented to a user, wherein the performance feedback includes metadata identifying an account associated with the user;
- determine, based on the metadata included in the performance feedback, whether the performance feedback is related to a valid user account;
- in response to determining that the performance feedback is related to a valid user account:
- strip the metadata identifying the valid user account from the performance feedback;
- and
- transmit the performance feedback to a media proposal server.
An improved analytics module comprising:
- a processor and associated memory;
- a program of instructions stored in the associated memory and executed by the processor, the program of instructions configured to prevent Internet bots from influencing user feedback by executing a method including:
- receiving performance feedback related to media presented to a user, wherein the performance feedback includes metadata identifying an account associated with the user;
- determining, based on the metadata included in the performance feedback, whether the performance feedback is related to a valid user account;
- in response to determining that the performance feedback is related to a valid user account:
- stripping the metadata identifying the valid user account from the performance feedback;
- and
- transmitting the performance feedback to a media proposal server.
