Multi-user device

A method comprising:

• launching a process on a multi-user device comprising a file system that includes a user-specific section and a non-user-specific section, the process being configured to operate in either a multi-user mode or a single-user mode;
• when the process is launched in the multi-user mode, providing the process with access to at least one container within the user-specific section of the file system that corresponds to a current user logged-in to the multi-user device, wherein the user-specific section of the file system is only accessible by the process when the current user is logged into the multi-user device;
• and
• when the process is launched in the single-user mode, providing the process with access to at least one container within the non-user-specific section of the file system.

A device comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor configured to:
• launch a process on the device, the device comprising a file system that includes a user-specific section and a non-user-specific section, the process being configured to operate in either a multi-user mode or a single-user mode;
• when the process is launched in the multi-user mode, provide the process with access to at least one container within the user-specific section of the file system that corresponds to a current user logged-in to the device, wherein the user-specific section of the file system is only accessible by the process when the current user is logged into the device;
• and
• when the process is launched in the single-user mode, provide the process with access to at least one container within the non-user-specific section of the file system.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising code that, when executed by one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to perform operations, the code comprising:

• code to launch a process on a multi-user device comprising a file system that includes a user-specific section and a non-user-specific section, the process being configured to operate in either a multi-user mode or a single-user mode;
• code to, when the process is launched in the multi-user mode, provide the process with access to at least one container within the user-specific section of the file system that corresponds to a current user logged-in to the multi-user device, wherein the user-specific section of the file system is only accessible by the process when the current user is logged into the multi-user device;
• and
• code to, when the process is launched in the single-user mode, provide the process with access to at least one container within the non-user-specific section of the file system.
