Electronic device and method for determining operating frequency of processor

A method for determining an operating frequency of a processor, the method comprising:

• identifying a time period comprising multiple unit durations;
• identifying for utilization of the processor for each of the multiple unit durations of the time period;
• collecting at least one variation of the utilization of the processor based on the utilization of the processor for each of the multiple unit durations;
• acquiring a temporal probability density function based on the at least one collected variation;
• identifying a probability density function corresponding to the temporal probability density function based on a previously stored probability density function table;
• and
• determining an operating frequency for a next unit duration based on at least part of the identified probability density function.

An electronic device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory operationally connected to the processor and configured to store instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
• identify for utilization variation of the processor for a predetermined previous duration;
• determine unpredictability related to utilization of the processor based on the utilization variation;
• and
• determine an operating frequency of the processor for a next duration based on the unpredictability.
