Abstract
A display device includes a polarizing plate including a first phase retardation layer, a second phase retardation layer disposed on the first phase retardation layer, a polarizer layer disposed on the second phase retardation layer, and a first adhesive member disposed between the first phase retardation layer and the second phase retardation layer. The first adhesive member is an adhesive layer having a refractive index different from a refractive index of the second phase retardation layer by about 0.25 or less, or a pressure sensitive adhesive layer having a thickness in a range from about 2 micrometers to about 10 micrometers.
Claims25
A polarizing plate comprising:
- a first phase retardation layer;
- a second phase retardation layer disposed on the first phase retardation layer;
- a polarizer layer disposed on the second phase retardation layer;
- and
- a first adhesive member disposed between the first phase retardation layer and the second phase retardation layer,
- wherein the first adhesive member is an adhesive layer having a refractive index different from a refractive index of the second phase retardation layer by about 0.25 or less, or a pressure sensitive adhesive layer having a thickness in a range from about 2 micrometers to about 10 micrometers.
A display device comprising:
- a display panel comprising a light emitting element;
- and
- a polarizing plate disposed on the display panel,
- wherein the polarizing plate comprising:
- a first phase retardation layer;
- a second phase retardation layer disposed on the first phase retardation layer;
- a polarizer layer disposed on the second phase retardation layer;
- and
- a first adhesive member disposed between the first phase retardation layer and the second phase retardation layer,
- wherein the first adhesive member is an adhesive layer having a refractive index different from a refractive index of the second phase retardation layer by about 0.25 or less, or a pressure sensitive adhesive layer having a thickness in a range from about 2 micrometers to about 10 micrometers.
A display device, which has a folding area, comprising:
- a display panel;
- and
- a polarizing plate disposed on the display panel,
- wherein the polarizing plate comprises:
- a first phase retardation layer;
- a second phase retardation layer disposed on the first phase retardation layer;
- a polarizer layer disposed on the second phase retardation layer;
- and
- an adhesive layer disposed between the first phase retardation layer and the second phase retardation layer and having a glass transition temperature in a range from about 40° C. to about 150° C.,
- wherein a refractive index difference between the adhesive layer and the second phase retardation layer is about 0.25 or less.
