Broadcast receiver

A broadcast receiving apparatus for receiving digital broadcast service, the digital broadcast service being allowed to execute an application in cooperation with a broadcast program, the broadcast receiving apparatus comprising:

• a tuner configured to receive a broadcast wave of the digital broadcast service, the broadcast wave at least containing video related to the broadcast program, program related information, and application-related information;
• processing circuitry configured to:
• separate the video related to the broadcast program, the program related information, and the application-related information from the broadcast wave received by the tuner;
• reproduce the video related to the broadcast program;
• generate a program information screen based on the program related information;
• refer to the application-related information to acquire a predetermined application via an Internet on a basis of acquired positional information;
• and
• execute the predetermined application acquired via the Internet to output an application execution video image;
• a display configured to display the video related to the broadcast program, the program information screen, or the application execution video image, wherein
• in the digital broadcast service received by the broadcast receiving apparatus, whether an application executed in cooperation with the broadcast program is provided via the Internet or not is set for each program,
• the processing circuitry generates a program information screen on which a broadcast program set to provide an application in the digital broadcast service is displayed together with a mark indicating that the application is provided together with the broadcast program,
• the display displays the program information screen,
• the application-related information contains application profile information indicating a function required to execute the application,
• the processing circuitry refers to the application profile information to determine whether the broadcast receiving apparatus has a function related to a cooperative operation required to execute the application or not, and
• there are a first control state and a second control state as control states of the processing circuitry, wherein
• in the first control state, the processing circuitry generates the mark for the broadcast program for which the application is provided in a case where it is determined that the broadcast receiving apparatus has the function required for execution of the application, and
• in the second control state, the processing circuitry does not generate the mark even though the application is provided together with the broadcast program in a case where it is determined that the broadcast receiving apparatus does not have the function required for execution of the application.
