Image forming apparatus, malfunction diagnosis method of image forming apparatus, and storage medium

A malfunction diagnosis method of an image forming apparatus having a storage unit operable to store a diagnosis target of a malfunction in association with a diagnostic item corresponding to the diagnosis target, the method comprising:

• in a case where an abnormality is detected, specifying the diagnosis target corresponding to the abnormality;
• executing a malfunction diagnosis process in accordance with a diagnostic item stored in the storage unit in association with the specified diagnosis target;
• and
• displaying information regarding a malfunction part that is determined to be a malfunction by the malfunction diagnosis process,
• wherein a malfunction diagnosis processes of a different type is executed depending on whether or not a sheet remaining in the image forming apparatus is detected.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a processor to execute a malfunction diagnosis method of an image forming apparatus having a storage unit operable to store a diagnosis target of a malfunction in association with a diagnostic item corresponding to the diagnosis target, the method comprising:

• in a case where an abnormality is detected, specifying the diagnosis target corresponding to the abnormality;
• executing a malfunction diagnosis process in accordance with a diagnostic item stored in the storage unit in association with the specified diagnosis target;
• and
• displaying information regarding a malfunction part that is determined to be a malfunction by the malfunction diagnosis process,
• wherein a malfunction diagnosis processes of a different type is executed depending on whether or not a sheet remaining in the image forming apparatus is detected.
