Claims11
A parking brake mechanism for a vehicle having a brake having a brake pedal with a brake pedal arm, which includes:
- a rigid bracket mountable about the vehicle brake and having at least one mounting surface configured for mounting to a fixed surface adjacent the brake;
- and
- a locking pin mechanism connected to said rigid bracket in a manner to normally bias said pin in a relaxed open state, and when said bracket is mounted about the brake, the brake pedal can be depressed to a braking position whereupon so doing permits actuation of said locking pin to be moved into a blocking position and when the brake pedal is released the brake pedal arm engages said locking pin preventing the brake from being fully released and thus preventing the movement of the vehicle.
