Abstract
The invention relates to novel veterinary compositions comprising torasemide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and administered in domestic animals according to a predetermined dosage for symptomatic treatment of pulmonary edema associated with heart failure.

A method for treating pulmonary edema associated with heart failure in a domestic animal, the method comprising administering to said domestic animal torasemide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof at a therapeutically effective dose ranging from about 0.10 mg/kg/day to about 0.50 mg/kg/day.
A veterinary composition for treating pulmonary edema associated with heart failure in a domestic animal, the composition comprises torasemide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for administration to the domestic animal at a dose ranging from about 0.10 mg/kg/day to about 0.50 mg/kg/day.
