A method for peeling beans and separating the hulls from peeled beans, the method comprising:
- driving a disc having rough surfaces to abrasively impact beans in water within a bounded region, and
- separating the hulls from the beans by a double-stage filtration process,
- wherein the bounded region is restricted by a barrier that is a first stage filter to separate peeled beans from the hulls, and
- a remaining mixture is gathered in a second stage filter to trap the hulls.
