Abstract
An improved fishing rod holder (10) includes a cradle (20) loosely suspended from an arm (20) attached to a leg (14) secured to a foot (16) of base (15). Second (30) and third (50) embodiments are also disclosed.

A fishing rod holder, which comprises;
- a base, and
- means for selectively and resiliently supporting a fishing rod in a raised position on said base.
A fishing rod holder, which comprises:
- a base;
- said base including a foot, an upright leg secured in an offset position to said foot, and a lateral arm secured to said leg above the foot;
- and
- a generally U-shaped cradle having two mutually spaced apart upwardly extending fingers, said cradle being loosely suspended from the arm of said base for limited movement about both generally vertical and generally horizontal axes, said cradle being adapted for selectively and resiliently supporting a fishing rod in a raised position on said base.

- a hollow compression spring with a predetermined number of longitudinally extending windings with predetermined spacing therebetween;
- said spring being adapted to selectively receive the fishing rod therein;
- and
- means for releasably securing said spring to paid base.
