A line trimmer and shredder apparatus is used for trimming, shredding, mulching vegetation, or removing snow accumulation, comprising of:
- 1. Four functional elements of the apparatus, comprise of:
- a. The base that provides external interfaces with a gas, battery, solar, and/or electric power source or engine using a female hexagon nut in the base, coupled to the cylindrical body and molded into one piece, to connect to a drive shaft by an adaptable retainer or its equivalent function element that may be attached to either a curved or straight drive shaft locking the base to the shaft end.
- b. The cylindrical body of the apparatus is hollow in nature, has holes throughout its walls, and the holes may be the same or variable sizes on the apparatus;
- whereas the cylindrical body walls are divided into three parallel sections with marked solid lines;
- whereas, each section has eyelet holes that may vary in size to accommodate the thickness of the ornamental nail head string line to be used, vary in spacing depending on the application and design, and vary in number as can be supported by the dimensions of the apparatus;
- whereas, each eyelet hole may be reinforced using metal rivets or thicker material with a decoupling design that may be modified for different applications;
- c. Nail head string lines:
- that are pre-molded or pre-made in any length and of any width that allow the string line to fit through the eyelet holes on the cylindrical body, are only used in the cylindrical body of the invention;
- can be made of nylon or any other material or fabrication;
- has an ornamental nail head design to hold the line in place in the body of the apparatus whenever the apparatus is in use to prevent the string line from unexpectedly separating from the body of the apparatus;
- and allow the user to modify the decoupling design by selecting the number, length, and thickness of nail head string lines to be used for the desired effort, such as trimming, shredding, or snow accumulation removal.
- d. The cover of the apparatus:
- is one independent piece functioning as a retainer. It is used to cover the cylindrical body and to secure and hold the “nail head” portion of the nail head string lines within the cylindrical body when the apparatus is operating. The cover of the apparatus has two prongs and one center pipe. Whenever the apparatus is spinning, the prongs lock and hold the apparatus securely in place, and the center pipe balances the apparatus as it spins.
- e. Interfaces directly with a power source or engine when the base of the apparatus is molded into the male hexagon nut at end of a drive shaft;
- f. Have additional applications and functions that can be attached on the device and/or on the lower end of the drive shaft to enhance and improve the performance of the apparatus.
- 2. The flexible construction of the apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said is based on the application of:
- a. The dimension of each element of the apparatus;
- b. The dimension of prongs and center pipe in the cover of the apparatus;
- c. The number of sections, the number of eyelet holes and the distribution of the holes by degrees (0 to 360), the size of the holes, and whether the holes are equipped with the rivets or without the rivets, in the cylindrical body of the apparatus;
- d. Dimensions of the nail head string, the number of strings, and the softness or hardness of the string;
- e. Elimination of the hexagon nut interface on the drive shaft, thus the drive shaft can be molded into the base of the apparatus.
