Abstract
The present disclosure provides for a computer chassis in which a base component can have a plurality of guide slots. A top cover of the chassis can have a plurality of guide pins where each guide pin is configured to fit into a guide slot. The base component and top cover also comprise an elastomer positioned adjacent to at least some of the guide slots. The elastomer pushes against a guide pin to force the guide pin into the guide slot. The elastomer therefore reduces or eliminates a gap between the base component and the top cover.
Claims14
A chassis for a computing device comprising:
- a base component defining a plurality of guide slots therein;
- a top cover comprising a plurality of guide pins corresponding to the plurality of guide slots so that the plurality of guide pins is positioned in the plurality of guide slots when the base component and the top cover are in a mating position;
- and
- a biasing element, the biasing element positioned adjacent to at least one of the guide slots, wherein the biasing element pushes against at least one of the guide pins corresponding to the at least one of the guide slots in the mating position,
- wherein at least one of the plurality of guide slots is tapered between an opening portion and an end portion, such that a corresponding guide pin encounters a hard stop substantially in the middle of the at least one guide slot.
