Signal indication for 5g/new radio

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors of a device, cause the one or more processors to:

• determine, based on a network synchronization signal, a signal power value for a wireless communication;
• determine, based on the network synchronization signal, a signal quality value for the wireless communication;
• generate, using the signal power value and the signal quality value, a signal strength associated with a next generation network connection;
• determine a state of the device, wherein the state relates to a next generation network connection state and a fourth generation (4G)/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) network connection state of the device;
• provide, for display, a network indicator indicating whether the device is associated with a 4G/LTE network connection or the next generation network connection, wherein the network indicator is based on the state of the device;
• and
• provide, for display, a first signal indicator indicating the signal strength.

A method comprising:

• determining, based on a network synchronization signal, a signal power value for a wireless communication;
• determining, based on the network synchronization signal, a signal quality value for the wireless communication;
• generating, using the signal power value and the signal quality value, a signal strength associated with a next generation network connection;
• determining a state of a device, wherein the state relates to a next generation network connection state and a fourth generation (4G)/Long Term Evolution (4G/LTE) network connection state of the device;
• providing, for display, a network indicator indicating whether the device is associated with a 4G/LTE network connection or the next generation network connection, wherein the network indicator is based on the state of the device;
• and
• providing, for display, a first signal indicator indicating the signal strength.
